I used to build real-life experiences. Nowadays I'm doing the same, but digitally.

After spending 10 years in the film and events industries, 2020 gave me the opportunity to discover tech.

Coding is a natural fit for me, as my passion for Project Management and puzzles have found the perfect outlet. Keen to understand better and progress faster in my learning, I enrolled in the Software Engineering Immersive Course at General Assembly.

I bring strong organisational skills, creative problem solving and a passion for delivering outstanding results. Having studied Ninpo for 5 years, I learned endurance and perseverance. Working within the events industry gave me the opportunity to take part in, and deliver amazing experiences.

I want to continue bringing joy through immersive user experiences, this time digitally, no longer conditioned by set times and places.

Hot Sauce Ninja

9 days, solo project - README

Space Invaders-inspired game where the player is a ninja fighting incoming food enemies by throwing bottles of hot sauce. This was both the first project from the General Assembly Software Engineering Immersive Course, and my first-ever coding project.

FASTival

FASTival was created with the intention to optimise the film festival scheduling process by making it fully digital. Full-stack application integrating the back end with a Python Django API using Django REST Framework to serve data from a Postgres database, and consumed with a separate front-end built with React Hooks.

Website inspired by Fiverr, with a focus on software development. I took on leading the project planning, along with building the back end with Express, Mongo and Mongoose. I also helped with building the carousel component (React Slick), home and users Index pages (React Hooks), and the favouriting functionality.

ContraDictionary

2 days, 2-person group, hackathon / pair-programming - README

Minimalist website leveraging 2 APIs (Classic English Dictionary and Urban Dictionary) to show dual definitions of words (traditional and slang).

React, Axios, SASS & two dictionary APIs: (unofficial) Google Dictionary API and Urban Dictionary API.
